The official poster of Super Bowl XLVI was released last week. It was designed by famed Indiana artist, Walter Knabe. The Super Bowl XLVI poster consists of the 38-foot-tall local icon atop Indianapolis' Soldiers and Sailors Monument, lots of stars, the Lucas Oil Field, Super Bowl Host Committee's logo and an official NFL football.
The commemorative poster was unveiled at the Conrad Indianapolis last Wednesday.
Walter Knabe said in a statement that,
"I wanted it to be pretty democratic so that everybody would get it, and I wanted it to be celebratory."
Knabe is also famous for being a designer for the artwork of Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan.
Allison Melangton, President and CEO of the Indianapolis Super Bowl XLVI Host Committee, said that "It's really remarkable, ... Knabe is an amazing asset to this community."
